On the couch

Yep a road trip is in the planning and reality is just a sleep away!

So we will take our routine lives off pause and trade our farm life for an American Western adventure!
The vastness of the web accessed from the lounge has already taken us already on many journeys. From the heated deserts of Arazonia, the journey along Route 66 to the wonders of the south west and onwards to the snow caps of Colorado. Maps have arrived, books scoured journey planned.bags packed...well almost.
We feel like we are almost ready.
But for those that know me....I was born ready!

Once Declan got accepted into a semester of Uni at Fort Collins, Colorado as an exchange student, we shared his excitement. Well that didn't last long, as we would miss his company, his help, his, oh yea hunger and the surf channels!

So not to miss out Lenore and I decided to exchange the seaside farm life for the smell of summer, mountain air and embrace another decade in 'coming to the age of maturity' by flying into LAX and driving to Fort Collins Uni, kiss and drop and head off on a motorcycle tour in the mountains of Colarado on our own! Celebrating the big day with Declan before heading home and launching into my retirement plans!

The Tour de France is finished, the cows happy and Port Power will have to continue with out us!
It's time to go.
Monday, 4am. USA here we come!

Footnote
The title Givim Sixty is born out of my long time spent in Papua New Guinea. In pigin English it means to drive 60 miles an hour, but in reality it means to go fast, to floor it.
And yes my grey hair isnt just a result of speed, I turn 60 while on tour. Mmmm, on tour. 60!
Mmmmmm, time for a drink! Cheers
