Victorville is in the desert and has no claim to fame, maybe apples, but not seeing any vegetation, save a few cacti. Our only testament is, yep, we ate one!
Further across the desert temperatures climbed above 100F but in the car was a breeze. We passed a massive solar power plant, but amazed at the scarceness of the landscape with no vegetation, save for a drugged mountains reminiscent of our humble Flinders Ranges.
And out of know where Las Vegas springs.
Decision time, where to stay? After further driving we ended up in the free carpark at the renown Caesars Palace.
From there we made our booking and embarked on the journey - thrust into the gambling halls, bags in toe. Who cares!
At the Double Barrel we ordered two handles of 2 pints in size, Dec got a water (while we shared!)
As evening fell the places all began to buzz. The Bellagio fountains were amazing, as was the size of the crowds.
We wandered further, had some beers on the street and ended up the Eiffel Tower. We waited in line and saw Las Vegas in her lit up glory, catching the last water show.
To make it interesting whilst on the street $20 on the bar was what I offered for the one to collect the most cards given out for solicitation. Obviously Declan collected the most but one guy refused to give Lenore a card! Knocked back! We found it funny.
A late night, lots of input, laughter and new experiences.
That's Las Vegas!
I always wondered why it was called the Strip? The cards explain everything!
ReplyDeleteGood on you Ossie and Lenore, keep up the good photography, and enjoy!!!
